Messer is involved in various associations and initiatives on the subject of hydrogen.

European Clean Hydrogen Alliance

This organization aims to help achieve the EU's goal of climate neutrality by 2050 with an optimally structured and comprehensive portfolio of hydrogen projects. Already by 2030, the EU wants to create sales markets for 4.4 million tons of green hydrogen annually. By comparison, currently all industrial gas companies in Europe produce just over one million tons of "gray" hydrogen per year. This will require large investments, which ECHA wants to prioritize, optimize and organize. Therefore, in addition to industrial gas companies, power companies, electrolyzer manufacturers, equipment companies, oil and gas companies, OEMs in the transportation sector, and steel and chemical companies are highly active on the topic of hydrogen.  

GET H2

In Germany, Messer is part of the GET H2 cooperation. As its first sub-project, this initiative has tackled the development of a local hydrogen infrastructure that links the energy, industry, transport and heating sectors along the entire value chain.

Wasserstoff- und Brennstoffzellen-Initiative Hessen e.V.

The H2BZ-Initiative Hessen is the Hessian competence network for hydrogen and fuel cell technology. It brings together information from politics, business, science and society on this topic. The H2BZ-Initiative Hessen conducts technology marketing and initiates or conducts technology transfer. In addition, it supports and advises companies that are active in this field or want to become active.

European Industrial Gases Association (EIGA)

EIGA - is a safety and technology oriented organization representing the vast majority of European and also non-European companies producing and distributing industrial, medical and food gases. The member companies work closely together on technical and safety issues in order to achieve the highest level of safety and environmental protection in the handling of gases. As an EIGA member, Messer is involved in various working groups, including on the subject of hydrogen

IndustrieGaseVerband e. V. (IGV)

The IGV advocates competitive framework conditions, the achievement of climate targets, security of supply as well as safety and environmental protection at national and European level. As a member of the IGV, Messer is active in various working groups, including on the subject of hydrogen.
