News & events
Fair "H2POLAND" (May 2023, Poznan)
What are the recent experiences with the introduction of hydrogen buses in public transport? Who offers corresponding buses (FCEB)? Where are there refueling stations and service stations? What are the financing possibilities? Messer provided clear answers to these questions at the "H2POLAND" trade fair, which took place on May 16 in Poznan, Poland. Tim Evison, SVP Sustainability & Clean Hydrogen at Messer, presented, among other things, Messer's "One-Stop-Shop", which is a comprehensive solution for hydrogen-powered buses - including all the services required for operation. The "H2POLAND" exhibition took place as part of the Central and Eastern European roadshow of the JIVE2.
6th "Annual Clean Bus Conference in Europe" (May 2023, Amsterdam)
In May 2023, this year's "Annual Clean Bus Conference in Europe" took place in Amsterdam. Andreas Noky, our specialist for hydrogen refueling stations, focused on Messer's options for supplying hydrogen and presented our comprehensive "One-Stop-Shop", which offers all the services needed to operate H2 bus fleets from a single source.
Hydrogen Round Table (Navarre, May 2023)
Marcos Torcal, Applications Engineer at Messer Ibérica, represented our company at the Navarra Hydrogen Round Table meeting held on May 11, 2023 at the headquarters of the Navarra Industrial Confederation (AIN). Mikel Irujo, Minister of Economic Development of the Government of Navarre, opened the technical conference on the situation of green hydrogen at the regulatory, technical and industrial levels. New applications of hydrogen from renewable sources in industry and transport were discussed.
Budapest Hydrogen Summit (April 2023, Budapest)
Messer used the “Budapest Hydrogen Summit”, which brings together key industry stakeholders and policy makers from the CEE region, to highlight the opportunities that clean hydrogen offers as we move towards a carbon-free future. Andreas Noky, clean hydrogen expert at Messer, addressed the national hydrogen strategy and explained how Messer supports the development of the Hungarian hydrogen economy and hydrogen mobility.
Sustainable Technology Forum (STEC23) (Valencia, March 2023)
At the Sustainable Technology Forum (STECH23), Rubén Folgado, Managing Director of Messer Ibérica, gave a presentation on renewable gases with a special focus on the production and use of green hydrogen in industry and transportation. The forum was held in Valencia from March 6 to 10, 2023. Topics included energy transition, sustainable chemistry and circular economy, expansion of photovoltaics and sustainable transport.
H2 on the move in Eastern Europe
The JIVE 2 CEE Bus Roadshow shows "live" how well hydrogen-powered electric buses can be used in local public transport. With financial support from the EU’s ‘Clean Hydrogen Partnership’ (CHP), the roadshow started in Slovenia in November, followed so far by Croatia, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Stops included the cities of Tolmin, Ljubljana, Zagreb, Most, Ostrava, Prague and Trnava, where Messer presented its products and solutions for refueling and operating H2 buses. Tim Evison, SVP Sustainability & Clean Hydrogen: "Together with Toyota/Caetanobus we are confirming the CHP’s message that hydrogen-powered bus transport is ready to be realized at scale.”
JIVE 2 CEE Bus Roadshow in Slovenia
The JIVE 2 CEE Bus Roadshow presents hydrogen technology live in Eastern and Central European cities. The focus is on fuel cell-powered buses for local public transport. As a specialist in hydrogen supply and hydrogen filling stations, Messer is part of the roadshow, which started in Slovenia. Next stop: Croatia. We will also be there live - with our expertise and our hydrogen-powered Toyota Mirai.
Messer in KPMG white paper on green hydrogen
The auditing and consulting firm KPMG has developed a white paper that presents green hydrogen as a decisive key technology for a successful energy transition. The publication, which has now been presented, gives a good overview of the status of hydrogen activities in Germany and includes a guest contribution from Messer, which presents the production, transport and refueling of or with green hydrogen. The white paper can be downloaded here (via the KPMG website) in German and English.
Hydrogen Technology Europe Expo (Bremen, Germany)
Our colleague Dr. Christoph Erdmann used the event to highlight the advantages of working with Messer on hydrogen-powered bus or truck fleets. The example of the district of Düren, Germany, showed how this can look in practice: Messer is supporting the district in the planned use of clean hydrogen in buses and trains. To this end, a hydrogen production plant is being implemented on site and optimum use is being made of the by-products of hydrogen production, oxygen and heat. The focus is on maximum product quality, efficiency and reliability, as well as maximum cost efficiency for climate-friendly and economical local public transport.
New “hydrogen ambassador”
A hydrogen-powered Toyota Mirai wrapped in the look of our “H2 activities” underlines our passion and commitment to clean mobility. The environmentally friendly eye-catcher celebrated its premiere at the 2nd hydrogen trade fair of the Düren district. Directly afterwards, we went to the opening of our mobile hydrogen filling station in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
2nd hydrogen fair of the district Düren (Jülich, Germany)
Messer also presented its expertise in all aspects of hydrogen production, application and supply at the 2nd Düren District Hydrogen Fair at the end of September 2022. The close cooperation with partner companies such as Fest, Maximator and Toyota Tsusho was also emphasized.
New EIGA website "Hydrogen Safety Ecosystem"
Clear and concise, the EIGA (European Industrial Gases Association) presents safety information on hydrogen on its website. The "Hydrogen Safety Ecosystem" is aimed at start-ups and established companies, engineers and inventors, legislators and policy makers, and many more.
